It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

So remember "lame-o" Valley Fair Mall? Well it’s not so lame anymore! They have remolded the outside and added lots of great restaurants. For Christmas they have a light show with music and a huge Christmas tree. So we headed down with Grandma and Grandpa and Katelyn for a few photos Sunday night and it was so cool! We got there just in time to see a great show and then there was 30 minute break before the next one started, so I felt like we were lucky. Then Monday night Ryan and I took George down to see the lights at Temple Square. He slept through most of if but before we left he woke up and we snapped a few photos. He was very interested in all of the lights and people and cars going by. It was fun to watch him watch them!

5 months old

The picture of George in his daddy's Texas hat was taken the day he turned 5 months old, November 23rd. He is smiling only because his Dad is looking at him, because that's what is always does when he see's him!

Some quick pix and now back to work!

4 months and Halloween

Well George was 4 months old...a few weeks ago! He doesn't look so thrilled to be posing with the metal Jack O' Lantern but it was October 23rd and my batteries in the camera were about to die so I snapped a few shots and called it good! The other pictures of George were taken at my Mom and Dad's house on Halloween. I love the pictures of George and Buddy with their tongues out! I have also included a picture of my friend from work Megan and her baby boy Beckett from our work Halloween party. He is 2 and half weeks older than George. Megan and I had a lot fun being pregnant together and now raising boys at the same time. They are both great little boys!

This is called Fun

We have learned that one 3 and a half month old baby boy is a lot of fun! Here are some picture from the weekend. We went for a walk around the lake at Daybreak, we went to our nephew Conner's football game, we went to dinner at Johnney Corino's and George jumped and jumped in his Jungle Jumper. He is getting so good at it now!

Life is good.

3 Months Old

This dear, sweet child of mine lights up his daddy like a Christmas tree. He brings Ryan and I so much joy and we are so grateful for him. His smile and laughs are priceless! He sleeps in the middle of our bed most nights. I hesitate to post that fact but it's true and we love him there with us. He has very strong legs and loves to stand up and jump, jump, jump. Ryan sings to him "Mexican jumpin' bean, Mexican jumpin bean"! That is one of the many songs that Ryan has come up with and sings to George. His neck is now strong enough to hold his head up in the jungle jumper. He loves to be able to jump on his own and we love to sit and watch him! His hair is VERY thin on one side and I am hoping the other side will thin out the same and then he will have a killer Mohawk!

Back to work

Tuesday was my first day back to work after spending 12 long weeks with baby George. I had mixed emotions about going back. I will miss being with George all day and our 3 hour afternoon naps but it will be nice to see my friends and bring home a pay check. These pictures are from my sister-in-law Carly, she was so kind to watch George for us on my first day back to work. As you can see from the pictures, he was being loved while I was away and that gave me so much peace!
Yesterday we took him for his two month check up, he has gained 5 pounds and grew 4 inches from his birth. He is getting so big!

Blessing

George was Blessed last Sunday, September 5th 2010 by his Grandpa Griffith. Our nephew Conner was blessed almost 12 years ago in the same clothing. Here are the two of them in my parents back yard at the lunch we had with the Griffith's and the White's after. It was a beautiful day and it was so fun to have our families together again. I want to thank both of our families for all of their love and support. I felt so much gratitude that evening as I was reflecting on the day. During the Sacrament, after the blessing, my Father, Mother and even my older brother Aaron bore their testimonies. There was just a special spirit there and I felt so much love. I am so grateful for our little boy and his spirit in our home.

George is 2 months old

George is so Great! Just 2 months ago today he come into our world and turned it upside down. I can honestly say I am so glad we are at two months and at not two months ago. I could have never imagined how much work a tiny person would be but now we are at a good place. I am still getting up to feed him 3 times a night and we both nap each morning or afternoon. Ryan takes a shift for me on the weekends but during the week he sleeps right though it. I don't know how I am going to manage working full time and getting up at night with George. I have about 3 weeks before real life will hit me and I go back to working. I feel lucky to have this time with the baby. He is on the verge of rolling over and he loves to "talk" to us.

*********

We took this photo this afternoon today. Buddy didn't move. He loved that we were all down on the floor with him!

Bouncy Chair

George loves his bouncy chair! His cousin Ava enjoyed this bouncy chair when she was a baby and when George was born it got handed down to him. I am the last of my siblings to have a child and the best thing about that is "hand me downs"! Aaron and Sandra, my brother and his beautiful wife, gave me a ton of baby stuff and saved us a ton of money. The bouncy chair for one, which is allowing me to update my blog right now, is his favorite place to be other than in our arms.

And, and you can see, his isn't losing his hair and he never will. I am putting that out there in the Universe, that he hasn't lost his hair and he won't. So if you will believe that with me...it will be so! Right? Right.

Tyson's Blessing

George's cousin Tyson Jack Brettridge, who is 4 days older, was blessed today. We drove down to Parowan last night and met up with the family to help celebrate the occasion. This picture was taken this morning on the church lawn after Sacrament meeting. It was a beautiful day for a picnic and so then we all met up at the park and ate and threw the Frisbee (okay, I just ate and watched the others play). Ryan's family mirror's my family in the fact that there are 5 boys and 2 girls and I feel so lucky to have such awesome in-laws! What a great day!

*****

Note: On the way home from Parowan this afternoon, Ryan’s Dad, Mom and younger brother Brandon were in a car accident on I-15. A Trailblazer spun them out and then they were t-boned by a van. Everyone is okay. These kinds of things happen. When they do it reminds you how fragile life is. Life can change in one moment. It reminds me how much I love my family and to tell them that I love them.
